If you are looking for the ‘Best Doggy Daycare’ in Chiswick, Hammersmith & Shepherds Bush then we do Daycare a little differently which includes at least 2 hours of dog walking and sniffing with our trainers in the park as well as relaxing downtime….
Why Do We Do Daycare Like This?
I see a lot of reactivity is due to dog daycares and dog pens. A dog needs downtime or it can lead to hyperarousal and reactivity. So the non-stop playing associated with dog daycare can be an issue. Moreover in an enclosed space, boisterous dogs can practice boisterous behaviour because the other dog who is not enjoying it cannot get away like they can on a dog walk out in the park.
If the people in charge of the daycare are not skilled enough to recognise the difference between bullying and play and thus intervene, then the dog who does not wish to reciprocate this boisterous play will give all the polite calming signals it can to stop it but eventually will be forced to escalate to a growl and then bite if it cannot flee.
Enough interactions like this and the now fearful dog does not even bother offering polite calming signals it goes straight to fleeing if it can or lunging, barking and perhaps biting if it cannot. Now it does not even look like a fearful dog, just a reactive dog.
SOLUTION?
For as close as possible price wise to the major competitors out there and without the very early starts and lengthy shuttle ride, we can offer dog day care in West London by collecting your dog between 8.15am and 9.30am and taking them on at least 2hrs of walking with a trainer and then an option that suits you for the afternoon:
OPTION 1.
Full Day with HOME DOWNTIME
We collect your dog between 8.15am & 9.30am and take your dog for the 2hr Perfect Group Adventure
Walk in a Country Park.
We then drop your dog off around lunchtime so they can have some downtime and relaxing food
puzzles in the comfort of their own home.
We will then collect them again for your choice & budget of afternoon activity such as:
Puppy Visit to play training games.
(Ten mins feed &
sniff around the block.)
Drop off will be around 4pm which may be a good time for us to give them their dinner too, to keep them busy.
You may also be able to add an evening sitting if you are out late.
OPTION 2.
BUILT FOR YOU
If your dog is not comfortable being alone or this doesn’t work for you then get in contact as we have various options depending on you and your dog from hanging out with us for the rest of the day to helping you overcome your dog’s separation distress so they can.
Either way, our day care will not involve 25 dogs in one space practicing bad behaviour.

Finding another Day Care service?
If you do choose another daycare centre, make sure to ask:
How long your dog will be in a van each day?
How many dogs per carer are at the centre?
What’s their position on toys and ball games?
Does your dog go on a walk?
Where does your dog get to go when they’ve had enough?
How trained are the staff to identify bullying?
For example, is a dog putting its neck over another dog’s neck appropriate? Was that play bow to incite play or to tell the other dog to calm down, was the bark aggressive or friendly?
When dealing with a large number of dogs, I believe having a good basic knowledge of canine behaviour is very important, especially if you have a young, adolescent or shy dog.

HOUSE VISITS
If you have a young Pup or a dog with Separation Anxiety, you may like a sitter just for the evening or you we may be happy for you to just drop them off at ours for a little bit.
