MEET THE TEAM

  • Tom - That Dog Guy

I am a CPDT-KA Accredited Dog Trainer & behaviour consultant. I’m also a member of the International Society of Animal Professionals and Emergency Canine First Aid Certified.

I love and understand dogs and thus believe in ethical, positive training and interaction with your dog. Dogs after all are domesticated animals with brains thought to be on par with a 2-3 yr old child and like a child they need us to teach them and support them. I have thus made it my job to help you communicate with your dog and be there for them when you can't.

  • Daisy - Trainer & Team Leader

Daisy has been around dogs her whole life, ever since she was a little kid when her grandad opened his own rescue in Hong Kong. It gave her an understanding of the different types of care different dogs need and a special love for dogs who might need the most help.

Always make sure the dogs she looks after and walk have the best time possible, meeting all of their needs and beyond.

Daisy got her first rescue a Lucas terrier aged 9. She now has a shepherd/ collie rescue mix who she is helping to learn to enjoy his life.

Daisy is a CCPDT accredited trainer and has completed the Emergency Canine First Aid Course.

  • Donna - Head of Behaviour

Donna has been working within the rescue industry as a behaviourist for the last 13 years.

Donna studied with Sarah fisher as part of her ACE (Animal Centred Education) training school and Victoria Stillwell.

“I specialise in fearful-aggressive dogs in & dogs who display nervous behaviours around other dogs and people. As part of my work within rescue, I am lucky enough to work with the most trickiest of dogs.”

Donna is ‘Head of Behvaviour’ in that with Tom she oversees every dogs behaviour plan as well as conducting behaviour Consults, puppy appointments and 121 training walks her self.

Donna previously worked for Battersea dogs home and is currently also in charge of behaviour for New Hope Animal Rescue and work’s closely to support the training programs with south east dogs, PACAFR and All Animals Rescue and Rehome. She also liaise and assess dogs for the met police and local council.

  • Maddison - Trainer & Walker

Madison spent four years working at Battersea Dogs Home gaining the benefits of their in house training programme and the wealth of experience that comes from working on so many different dogs rehabilitation programmes. I can tell you they really didn’t want her to go but I am so glad we managed to win her.

  • Leyla - Walker, Sitter, Assistant Trainer

Leyla’s passion for animals has been a lifelong journey, starting from her early years. Over time, she had the joy of owning a variety of pets (from dogs to rabbits to budgies and gerbils), and Leyla’s adventurous spirit led her to attempt a pet-sitting business at the age of 11 – though, “admittedly, £2 per day wasn't the epitome of entrepreneurial genius.”

Driven by her love for animals, she has transitioned into a career that feels more like a fulfilling vocation than a job. Leyla take pride in caring for your beloved dogs as if they were her own.

Looking forward, her aspirations include venturing into the world of dog training. She is excited about the prospect of further contributing to the well-being and development of our canine companions.

  • Brandy - Walker & Trainer

Brandy has completed numerous courses with the Institute of Modern Dog Training and is about to start the prestigious PACT course.

Over the last four years he has particularly been working with ‘’the right naughty ones’’ (his words not ours) and has lots of experience in large group settings and 121’s. His determination to learn as much as possible and thrive to be the best version of himself in the dog world, and in general for that matter, has really impressed us and is why we think he will be an amazing addition.

So… Let’s leave the dog in the crate and address the elephant in the room! Brandy has a lot of tattoos and may look a little scary (insert spooky noise) but as the old saying goes, don’t judge a book by its cover or in our case, a dog by its owner because he is a really friendly chap that goes the extra mile to make sure that everyone gets a 5• service.

We all think, that through his professionalism & enthusiasm for the welfare & understanding of dogs you will be confident and extremely happy to know that Brandy is coming!

If he was a dog, loved ones have described him as a Golden Retriever.

Brandy is Canine First Aid Certified and also offers sitting in your home.

  • Karen - Account Manager

Karen has been with That Dog Guy from the early days initially starting as a walker whilst also working as a therapist. She now heads up the invoicing side of things but I’m delighted to say you won’t keep her from walking some of the dogs too! :)

  • Ellie - Assistant Trainer & Cover Walker

Ellie has been training and assisting Tom and the team since the beginning of 2021 in conjunction with doing a course in dog behaviour at the CIDBT (Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training).

Ellie states every work day is a joy with the dogs whether it’s taking a new group of puppies out on their first walk or helping an older rescue dog with reactive issues and seeing how far he has come. She can’t believe that she finally gets to work with one of the loves of her life on a daily basis.

She has two dogs, Lurchers, and she loves her clients almost as mush as her own!.

Ellie hopes to continue studying whilst working and carry on to achieve an accreditation from the CCPDT once she has complete my current course.

Ellie has also completed the Emergency Canine First Aid Course.

  • Katie - Separation Anxiety Consultant

Katie works with That Dog Guy as their Separation Anxiety Consultant.

She is very proud to be 1 of only a handful of CSATs (Certified Separation Anxiety Trainers) within the UK, and have studied under the leading world speaker in the subject Malena DeMartini. She is also an accredited ABTC and PACT trainer and proud owner of 2 rescue dogs.

  • Robert - Assistant & Camerman

Robert was a successful cameraman mainly for the BBC. I have known him a long time and thus he kindly helps assisting the groups but we also couldn’t waste that talent so we force an iphone into his hand every now and then for training videos and that sort of jazz….

He on the other hand will not be available for sitting as he seems to have the most active social life of all of us….
